Our Boys The P.B.A. Champions
Jan Geddes, Monday, 10 November 2008Congratulations to Lee Schraner, Phil Ashman and Lyle Taberner for winning the P.B.A. Triples on Sunday the 19th October at Long Island. Unfortunately I have no information regarding who they played or by how many shots they won by. To top it off Lee, Lyle, Phil and Geoff Watt have also won the P.B.A. Fours title. The Finals were played at Somerville and in the Semi Final they defeated K. Vaughan's team from City of Frankston. The Final was played against Mark Delacy's team from City of Frankston who beat Stan Slewinski's Somerville team in the other Sem Final. I was not there to witness how well our fellows played, but I am told they played very well as the scores indicate. Well done fellows. Congratulations also goes to Lee, Lyle and John Curtain for being selected to play in the Group 7 Side in the Annual Challenge Match against Group 8 at Warrigal on Sunday the 14th December 2008 and the Victorian Group Sides Championships to be held at Corowa Bowling Club 9 -11 January 2009.
